Built by Shah Jehan as the burial site for his beloved wife, Queen Mumtaz Mahal, who died after giving birth to their 14th child, the Taj Mahal is one of the most famous symbols of enduring love in the world and a must-see. One of the eight wonders of the world, the Taj Mahal is built entirely of white marble. Its stunning architectural and aesthetic majesty cannot be captured in words, especially at dawn and sunset or when it glows in the light of the full moon. When viewed from across the Jamuna river on a foggy day, it seems to practically float.
