Description: Copacabana's legendary status makes it one of the most famous beaches in the world. Just in front of the gigantic city of Rio de Janeiro, this long stretch of beach is close to good shopping, cultural attractions, buzzing night life, and inexpensive accommodations. The beach itself, not one of the most beautiful or pristine, is crowded with people, music and intense games of beach volleyball. Copacabana Beach is also the place that invented foot volleyball (called futevolei), so try to get in on a game with the friendly and charming locals.
