Region: Ceara
Jericoacoara is a small fishing village cum beach hippie mecca in Ceara, Brazil, some 300 km west of Fortaleza. Jeri, as it is affectionately known, is a place where pavement does not exist and there is sand under every step. It is the kind of idyllic place where many travelers end up deciding to stay for longer than they had originally planned.

Although the beach itself tends to disappoint many travelers, -mostly too shallow for a swim, rather muddy on low tide, the surrounding are very pleasant indeed.
