A large town, really the only one in Donegal, with a population of about 18,000. With a poor (but improving) road infrastructure, Letterkenny boasts a good nightlife with plenty of young students, decent pubs, and places to eat. It is popular with hen and stag parties. Letterkenny is the shopping capital of the North-west. Shopping centres abound and shoppers are spoiled for choice.
