Description: South Padre Island still maintains its untouched, pristine white dunes from which you can observe the dolphins showing off in their aquatic home. And they aren't shy of visitors! Four hotels exist on the island, and the downtown area has been built around the pre-existing beach bars. Aside from great, natural beaches, South Padre offers plenty of things to do. There is a cinema, a bookstore and a small museum. Other available activities include horseback riding, butterfly collecting, jeep rides and fishing. Be aware of the higher prices and partying 20-something crowds that usually start here after mid-March with the influx of students on Spring Break.
