7 Travel Goals for You to Conquer in 2010

January 7th, 2010 by Katie

Make 2010 the year of travel! Set yourself some travel goals for the year ahead and start off as you mean to go on!

Top Mountain

The new year is a perfect time to reflect on what you want to achieve in the coming year.

Every year I say I want to “travel more”.

But there are so many other travel goals we can set ourselves for 2010.

Have a read of these 7 Travel Goals for You to Conquer in 2010, put your plans into action and make 2010 the year of travel!

1.    Visit a New Continent

If you keep going back to Asia or Europe then branch out to Africa or the Middle East.

There’s a whole world out there, don’t miss it!

2.    Go on a Solo Trip

Traveling alone is one of the most daunting yet rewarding travel goals you can set yourself.

You’ll learn so much about yourself, even for just one weekend.

Be brave, give it a go!

3.    Learn a New Language

Being able to converse in the local lingo will open up a destination in ways you could never imagine.

Spanish will take you around the whole of South America and Arabic will open the doors to the Middle East.

Put the effort in, it’s worth it!

4.    Get Published

Share your passion for travel
with readers across the globe.

Whether it’s contributing to an online travel community, writing for your local newspaper or starting up your own blog, travel writing is easier than you think.

Sure, it won’t make you a millionaire any time soon, but seeing your name in print? Priceless!

5.    Take a Trip Within Your Borders

Like me, the miles traveled within your home country is probably shameful.

I can bet there’s heaps to see but it’s always seemed more exciting to go abroad.

Take a trip within your borders, you’ll be surprised at what you’ll find.

6.    Get Serious About Photography

We all take photos when we travel but do any of us really know what we’re doing?

Take a photography course, treat yourself to a great camera and get snapping.

The end result? Albums and albums of beautiful memories that are yours forever.

Again, priceless!

7.    Up the Ante with Your Favorite Hobby

Go one step further with your favorite hobby in 2010.

Like to dive? Then do a dive-masters course somewhere fabulous.

Like to climb? Then conquer Everest.

Push yourself
, you can do it!

Already conquered these travel goals? Then what’s on your list for 2010? Let us know, we want to hear from you!
