Nice, the trips from NYC look great. Never even heard of some of these places!!
Gas prices must be higher in other parts of the country – in NC it’s still half the price of gas last year at this time. Great list, though! Must mention that both Nantucket and Vineyard Haven (Martha’s Vineyard) will require a ferry ride (and no chance of all getting your car on one this late in the game).
One great road trip from NYC is to Mohonk Mountain House – only an hour and half from the city and you feel like you’re deep in the woods…

We have been road trippers for years and are always in the process of planning another, currently on our third this year, and we do look for and find bargains because our idea of roughing it is a Holiday Inn with an outdoor pool. love reading everyones comments
