You’ll need to have a passion for travel, an eye for images and be skilled in online research.
If this sounds like you then here’s what you’ll need to do.

2) Fill out our Freelance Writer application form
3) Submit your article and images (link below)
If your article meets our editorial standards then we’ll invite you to become a Tripbase Writer meaning that you’ll be offered article assignments on a regular basis.
Payment is $30 per article, $25 if we have to replace any of your images.
(We’ll also pay you for your trial article if we end up publishing it).

Example article assignments
1) FOOD
8- 10 Italian Cooking Vacations for Garlic Lovers
Please write up a summary of some of the top cooking vacations in Italy. You should include a variety of cooking courses from different parts of the country with details on each course – structure, teachers, accommodation, type of food you will be cooking etc.. Please include some snappy bits of info for each course on your list ie, location, price, contact info, example dish etc..
Word count: 800 – 900 words
Photos: One main article image and one more for each point on your list – You can include some destination shots but most should be mouth-watering food shots relevant to each cooking course on your list.
2) FAMILY
8- 10 Kid-Friendly Safaris that won’t Break the Bank
An overview of safari vacations that specialize in catering for families. Obviously a safari vacation is seldom a budget choice but please try to include the most affordable options you can find. Your selection should include a range of different safari destinations. Your article should include interesting and relevant info on each vacation: location, structure, scenery .. etc.. as well as some snappy facts for each safari eg. cost, best time to go, accommodation, animals likely to see etc.. Feel free to draw on personal experiences if relevant.
Word count: 800 – 900
Photos: One main article image as well as one image for each safari vacation in your article. Photos can be a mix of scenery shots and animal shots but all must have the wow-factor.
3) HISTORY
Photo Essay: The History of Air Travel
Please include a series of images illustrating the history of the aviation industry right up until the present day. The photos you choose to include should depict interesting events and milestones that would appeal to history buffs and aviation enthusiasts ie. first ever flying machine, first passenger jet, first female pilot, first major crash, concord, budget-airlines, double-decker planes etc.. etc.. Please include a description to accompany each photo with interesting historical info and anecdotes.
Word count: 800 – 1,000 words
Photos: One main article image and 10 – 15 more eye-catching photos depicting interesting events in the history of air travel.
4) FUN
10 – 15 Fun Foods from Foreign Supermarkets
Images are key to this fun post about foreign food. Please include images of the sorts of bizarre and funny food items you would photograph and send to your friends back home eg. fish candy, canned panda milk, artichoke tea etc, etc.. you get the idea! For each image please include the name of the food item, where it is sold and some info on the product – who eats it, where, when, why etc.. You should include food items you might find in supermarkets in a range of countries across the world and nothing you can buy at home. Please nothing gross/ disgusting / obscene that will make our readers feel ill! The tone of this post should not be poking fun at other cultures but more in the vein of cross-cultural curiosity and friendly fun. Please only include foods that can be bought in SUPERMARKETS – no restaurant dishes!

Photos: One main article image and another 10 – 15 food images for each point in your article.
