Not up for another day at the museum? In New York City you don’t have to be! NYC is THE place to appreciate street art. These pictures can get you started.
In New York you can get acquainted with some of the most famous street art in the world. Street art refers to art that is created in public spaces, including graffiti. Though some see it as vandalism, there is no denying that these masterpieces are sights to behold.
Take a look and tell me some small part of you isn’t rooting for the Yankees.
1. About 5 Pointz

A “graffiti Mecca,” The 5Pointz Aerosol Art Center, Inc. is an outdoor exhibit space in Queens where aerosol artists from all over the world unite and contribute. The awe-inspiring warehouse walls have been painted on by famous writers, and are visited by prominent artists and musicians of all kinds.

5. A Banksy Original
The artist currently known as Banksy is believed to be a U.K. Native but has certainly left his mark on the streets of New York. His striking work tends to be anti-war, anti-capitalist, or ant-establishment.

8. Swoon on Rivington Street

Swoon, who studied at the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, is a New York City street artist who specializes in life-size wheatpaste prints and realistic paper cutouts of figures.

11. 11 Spring Street

Originally a stable and carriage house, 11 Spring street in NoLIta was one of the most famous canvases for urban artists for over two decades. When the building was purchased, an exhibit featuring artists from all over the world was held before the walls were demolished.
