Tornado tears through three states of America killing at least 7 people.

A tornado which battled its way through Oklahoma and Arkansas has left at least 7 dead, including a 6 year old child and an 18 month old baby girl.

The powerful storm ripped through three counties leaving destruction in its trail. While names have not yet been released, families are being informed of this latest tragedy from Mother Nature.

With torn roofs and shattered windows, the storm which hit at 7pm last night (Thursday 14th April 2011) and carried on through to the early hours of Friday Morning (15th April 2011) and has left millions of dollars worth of destruction behind.

Roads have been closed off by the authorities who have been left to begin the clear up effort.

Hail measuring 4 inches in diameter also caused chaos throughout western Arkansas, according to the National Weather Service.

The storm is said to have been the largest since the 2009 Lone Grove tornado.

Volunteers have now taken to helping in the cleanup effort following the destructive storm, as families attempt to understand the disaster left behind.
