A crystal piano owned by Yoshiki has reached 30 million yen in Yahoo! Charity Auction

A Crystal piano donated by X Japan leader Yoshiki for the Yahoo! Japan “Eastern Japan Earthquake Charity Auction” has exceeded 30 million yen ($360,000).

The Charity Auction began on 17th April 2011, reaching 30 million yen by 5pm that evening. The bidding will continue onto the 24th April JST with all of the proceeds going to the Japanese Red Cross who are raising money for the flood and quake ridden areas in the aftermath of the Great Tohoku Kanto natural disasters.

The charity auction held by Yahoo! Japan is open to participants all over the world, meaning that anyone who has an interest on the crystal Kawai CR-40 piano which was famously played by Yoshiki in his tours and concerts.

The auction has also received items from other famous figures such as Marilyn Manson, Stan Lee, Robert Pattinson and Reece Witherspoon.

Yoshiki was recording his X Japan album in Japan when the Tsunami and Earthquake hit, since then he has devoted his time and effort on the relief effort.
