Today saw the release of the music video for E.T. (see below), Katy Perry’s fourth single from the Teenage Dream album which is the latest in a string of number ones for the young pop artist. Featuring the ever-controversial Kanye West, the single has beaten Lady Gaga’s recent Born This Way from the top spot.

The effects-laden video sees Perry playing the role of an alien princess searching throughout the planet before finding it on a desolate and long abandoned planet (speculated to be Earth by many viewers). Early reception to the video is positive, with many applauding the sci-fi feel with the special effects and design somewhat similar to the hit film Avatar.
