Norwegian Cruise line

With a name like the Norwegian Cruise line you may assume that their speciality is Norway. Some other cruise lines up in the Baltic and around Scandinavia have chosen not to become world-wide specialists in cruise, but to become niche providers who stick to one route, to knowing that one route very well, and to not being to adventurous when it comes to destinations that are further afield. Nothing could be further from the truth when it comes to the Norwegian Cruise line. You would perhaps assume that like any company with the word Norway in their name that they would of course have began their company by offering cruises from Oslo to Copenhagen perhaps, but in fact the cruise line began in the Caribbean, with just one boat offering low cost cruises.

They combined the low cost cruise with the low cost flight to help keep the flight prices even lower. They are also well known in the cruise world as the first cruise company to develop new Caribbean ports in order for them to be better prepared to accept passengers and the Norwegian Cruise line's many customers. Norwegian Cruise line created the first ever mega cruise-ships, and led the way in the creation of these mega ships that provide a lot of room for entertainment facilities. These days, their ships go as far as Alaska, Hawaii, and Bermuda.

One of the Norwegian cruise line's specialities and in fact a registered trademark is something that goes against the history of cruising as being a very formal and elegant practice. Instead, Norwegian Cruise line offer freestyle cruising. This is intended to provide passengers with complete freedom and to not have to conform to the day's single menu in the restaurant, or to restrict your fun to tired cinemas and entertainment programs. They also have the largest selection of accommodation in order to allow their customers complete freedom to choose exactly how much they want to pay for their cruise.

It is a nice thing to offer so much choice, but some passengers would prefer the cruise lines to enforce a high level of formal dining and eating in order to match the high quality of service. But cruising is changing, and as younger people take the decision to cruise, Norwegian Cruise line has to continue to update its service and not be too held back by the traditions of the past.
