Peter Deilmann cruises

Close your eyes and think about cruises. What is the image that you see? For me it's a huge big white ship, moored far off of the coast of a white shimmering coastal atoll. Perhaps the atoll has been there for a few hundred thousands years. The cruise ship though, it just pulled in after having departing from an island port where the passengers loaded up with fake local cultural artefacts, wooden animal skinned drums, and a few hundred thousand photos that will be studied long on. Now, the ship is moored.

That is what I see. A big ship in an ocean who's size we can never understand. But for now the ship is not too deep, and boats are bringing passengers to shore. That's the image of cruises that I have in my mind.

And it's likely the image of the perfection that you also have in your mind if you close your eyes and think hard. If you haven't ever been on a cruise this will be especially true. But for Peter Deilmann cruises, this is an image that they wanted to shatter. You see, Peter Deilmann cruises do not have their expertise in tropical island.

Sure, they have a number of ocean cruises, but the German based in Neustadt in Holstein are interested in something that's a little different. And it's good that someone is. After all, we all have the image of cruising to a tropical island and disembarking alone or with loved ones onto a white sand beach that no-one has trodden in for many years. But of course the reality is far from that perfect image.

Actually, it's likely that you'll disembark with a few hundred other people and that the beautiful beach will be a likely more spoilt that you'd hoped for. This is where Peter Deilmann cruises come in. Peter Deilmann cruises are specialists in the river cruise.

Their boat the MS Deutschland is all that makes up their ocean fleet. Their river cruise fleet though is much more substantial, containing eight cruise vessels named after famous Germans like Mozart, and famous German cities like Dresden. They were well known for their river cruises but they have become known for something else. Peter Deilmann cruises chartered Air France Flight 4590, the Concorde which crashed killing all passengers who were on their way to a cruise on MS Deutschland. It's a shame that a single accident has tarnished the history of such a strong brand.
